I hope you've all had a solid start to the fall. It's finally time to go out and throw some discs together!
The course:
We still have to put 6 baskets in the course and lay out the teepads. We will be meeting at the course at 6pm TOMORROW (Thursday) to do that. Many of us will stick around afterwards to play a quick round, so if you're a newcomer this would be a good opportunity to meet some people and ask any questions you may have.
Party!
I will be hosting a party at my house sometime next weekend so everyone can have the chance to meet some new people and hangout. Drinks and pizza will be provided, and we'll set up a couple baskets. More info to come next week!
Informational meeting:
We'll be having an informational meeting sometime in the next couple weeks. We will let you all know the details as soon as we have a room reserved.
We are hoping to restructure the club quite a bit this year. We are in the process of re-drafting our constitution so the club can not only be more successful, but more fun. Especially since a couple of our eboard members are upperclassmen, we are hoping to bring in some new, motivated people to help us push the club to new levels in terms of attendance, the number of activities we do, and how much funding we bring in.
Anyone that is a member of this club has the opportunity to make an impact on it. At our informational meeting, we will be brainstorming ideas together so we can tailor the club to the wants of everyone. In October, we will be holding elections for vacant eBoard positions.
NCDGC:
We are hoping to send a team to compete in the National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships this year. There is a qualifier tournament on September 20th and 21st that we will be competing in. We will most likely be sending two teams (8 players total). If you are a more competitive player, and are interested in playing in the tournament, please contact us. Our student coach, Ziggy, will be selecting the team (much like a Ryder Cup style) based off of PDGA ratings and overall talent.
More to come soon!
We are still in the process of organizing many things. We will be updating you all via email and Facebook. You can always check the schedule on our website for upcoming events. Feel free to reply to this email with any questions we have. We look forward to seeing you all soon!
Peace,
Eric Savoie
