About Us
The Michigan State University Disc Golf Club was founded in 2012. Our main goal is to bring students together to enjoy the great sport of disc golf. We welcome anyone of all skill levels. We have a course located just south of campus on the north side of Mt. Hope Rd.
Club Events
We host a variety events throughout the year. You may find our club round and event calendar on the Schedule page of this website.
We post all important club updates under News. If you are interested in joining the club, you may register by sending us an email ([email protected]) or contacting an administrator through our Facebook group.
Weekly Club Rounds
During the fall and spring, we hold weekly league rounds at the MSU course. They take place on Saturdays or Sundays in the morning or early afternoon, dependent on weather and other factors that may affect attendance.
Clinics
Ziggy Bierekoven, our student coach, holds clinics each week. He has been a professional since the age of 15 and is sponsored by Innova. Each week, he posts on our Facebook group to see which day works best for everyone. He also asks what topics people would like to focus on so he can help everyone improve their game in every way they hope to.
Winter Putting League
We hope to begin our winter putting league in November. Unfortunately, we are still in the process of securing a location for it. If anyone has any leads, please contact us!
Disc Golf Road Trip
In October, we will be having a weekend road trip in which we play some of the best courses in the state. More details to come in the fall!
National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships
We recently qualified for the NCDGC at the Great Lakes Collegiate Open! We also qualified last year, but our team members were unable to make the trip due to a lack of funds and schedule conflicts. It is our goal to raise more funds next year and send a team to compete at this exclusive event.

Our Course
The address for the MSU Course is 3600 Mount Hope Road, East Lansing, MI, 48824. You will notice a large parking lot between Harrison and Hagadorn. Parking for the course is located in the northwest corner of the parking lot.
The course shares the land that is used for the Agricultural Expo each summer. For this reason, the course is pulled from early May through mid-August each year. From a University standpoint, the Agricultural Expo is their first priority for the purpose of this land. Thus, we must treat the whole property that we have been given the privilege use with the utmost respect. We have had problems with vandalism and littering in the past, and if it continues, we will not be able to keep the course in place. Let's stay Sparty Green and try to take care of our course!
How to navigate the course:
Hole 1 can be found on the far east side of the course. Each hole number is marked on the teepad with orange flags and a paint stick, and each basket is marked with the correct hole number. After you complete a hole, follow the string tied to the basket into the direction of the next teepad. We will soon be posting a map of the course on our website that you can use as a guide.
We have three missing baskets. Hole 3 should be played over the road to the nearest green pole, Hole 13 should be played to the wooden box about 450 feet away (where you will see the hole number), and Hole 16 should be played to the tree straight ahead about 400 feet to flag in the grass.
Donations
We hope to one day have a nice, complete course that can foster the growth our club.
The course currently has 15 baskets. We have ordered the three missing baskets and they should be replaced soon. However, there are still many things that must be added to the course to complete it. We hope to raise additional funding so we can add the following:
We will gladly accept donations of any form to help us achieve our goals.
For any donations, please contact us via email. We can accept monetary donations via PayPal ([email protected]) or personal checks.
